It is amazing the treatment available and the people who care so much about animals to do it. Not that long ago it wouldn't have been heard of.

I'm so pleased Charlie is doing so well and enjoying his water physio. It looks great fun. ;D

Oh this is great! How wonderful for Charlie - and you must be thrilled Julie to have found something that can help make the time bearable while you are waiting for the operation.

And so true that there are always animals and humans worse off than us. Good thing to be reminded every now and then to count our blessings… :)

It is a big help. It's probably a bit short term, as they pointed out to me today. He is now going to get fitter and stronger - the treadmill is a huge work out even for a fit dog. So I have to take advantage of having a bit more control to keep up the training.

The box wasn't a problem - in a box with a friendly person who will let you lick her ears? No problem. Flatly refuses to go in the shower afterwards though, we have to do him with a bucket and sponge! And the blow dryers? No way. ::) They want me to work on the blow dryers, they don't like him travelling home damp.

Before long , he will be insisting on a manicure before he leaves.
Seriously, Lilly took several sessions before she tolerated the blow-drying even on her back. Took us months to work up as far as a whole blow-dry including ears and front paws (for some reason). Now she loves it - got that spot on her flank that she lifts her leg up and says "more, more"!
Do you have a fleece or drying jacket of any sort? Our equafleece/hotterdog fleece does a brilliant job of wicking away the wet after a swim.

    Go Charlie!!

Ooo! I do! I bought a bright yellow fleece dog dressing gown with "Australian Surf Dog" written on it, before Christmas. Mainly to take a pic to impress Obi. I'll dig it out...

I love these pictures .......he is such a good boy x I can only dream of seeing Dexter look at a tennis ball with that much adoration!
It is quite humbling meeting other people Julie that are dealing with other serious conditions.I was having a wobble in the vets during the tail recup and another owner told me about her dog that had had a leg amputated through a cancerous growth......whilst it doesn't and shouldn't dilute the worry you are feeling about your own pet,it is quite encouraging to see people coping with 'worse' and coming through it....
There are such lovely people working in your clinic, worrying about our Chocolate Charlie traveling home damp :*
I've always said in my next life I am coming back as a dentist.....(.lucrative,especially in Doobs , ;D )however now I've changed my mind....I want to be an animal hydro therapist, that just looks like the best job ever ;D x

Oh no - the water is 29 degrees! It's boiling hot in there. I have no clue why they wear wetsuits...I'll ask.

I have to say, they are the most professional, happy, team of people you could wish to meet. The dogs don't get to mess them around but all dogs get to lick ears and play and cuddle.

I have taken the "plunge" and booked Charlie in for a spa weekend next week. So me and OH can get away. Charlie gets swims and walks all day, and sleeps in a little cottage at night with 4 other dogs and a member of staff. Should be ok....I hope... :-\

He will be absolutely fine - he will love it!!! He will be so tired at night that he will sleep like a log. Really it sounds brilliant. Now, your assigned task is to go away for the weekend and relax and pamper yourself and not worry about Charlie, who will be in the very best of hands :)

it will be fine, you have a nice break from 24/7 charlie care. Just think, you will have one very tired doggy when you get him back, all those walks and swims, and of course licking ears and having cuddles.

It will do do you both good :)
