My youngest son took Charlie for a walk around 8 pm last night when it had cooled down. He had a great walk sitting Charlie up at long distances with dusk distractions then recalling him, Charlie loving it and hunting for the treats on the ground when he returned. Charlie popped into a line of trees and came out sniffing the air. Thomas could see Charlie knew something was around, he spotted two large deer in the crop very closeby, so verbally recalled Charlie successfully even though he knew there was something interesting around, so he got more treats. Charlie WATCHED the deer off lead and didn't even attempt to bark or chase :) Thomas was quite pleased when he came home to tell me and so was I. :) xx

Thanks all, I will pass your comments to Thomas :) Either my training is finally paying off or Charlie is getting OLD!!

Thomas has been in the garden with Charlie today where there is a baby crow unable to fly, Charlie made a dash for it but swerved round when Thomas recalled him, he instantly returned to Thomas for a ball. The baby bird is fine, thankfully :) x
