Well, we had a bit of drama on the way home (nothing to do with the pups, just boring car trouble), so we didn't get home until quite late last night. Because of that, we decided it made sense to keep the third puppy, who is going to our friends, overnight with the other two. So, Willow and Dotty (the yellow bitch going to our friends) were absolutely loopy. Willow was showing lots of play-based dominant behaviour. It was good to see, since it's her home and when we were in France, she definitely acted the underdog. Those two are going to stay firm friends as they grow up, you can see that already. They're full of rough (ruff?) and tumble, grabbing and pulling with each other. Dotty is a bit shorter than Willow, but a bit of a tank, so they're well matched. While the girls were going mental, our new little boy, Shadow, was quiet, demure and beautiful. He sat with us for cuddles and licks while they acted the fools. He joined in now and again, but in general, he's a lot calmer than the two of them. Phew! We put them into the crate at about 10pm so we could grab some food and they settled almost immediately, after a squeaky bark from Shadow. They slept through then until we let them out for the toilet at 2:45 (yes, we fell asleep on the sofa, hah!). That was "fun"! So much for trying to keep quiet and down to business. They went loony again, and since they'd been asleep in the car for so long during the day, we decided to let them continue for 20 minutes to burn off some energy before putting them back to bed. It seemed to do the trick because they then slept through until 7:40! More mayhem followed breakfast, they are now asleep in the crate and we are waiting for our friends to arrive to pick up Dotty. Then we're off to the vet with our two to register Shadow with them and the government, and to have their rabies jabs. The last few days have made me so proud of how much we've managed to do with Willow. She has such better manners than the other two (although they are delightful in their own way) so I'm looking forward to the challenge of bringing little* Shadow up to scratch. *and he is little - only 8kg to Willow's 9.9kg! He is short, but he also looks a little on the skinny side to me, so we're now on Operation Lard-arse Pictures will follow, probably most likely this evening once we're back from the vet.

Re: We're home with a bundle of puppies!!! Sounds manic, but such fun with 3 cute bundles romping around! Can't wait to see photos of Willow and Shadow
Re: We're home with a bundle of puppies!!! Just back from the vet, where both the bundles had their rabies jabs and Shadow had a check-up. The vet was very happy with everything, although did agree that he's a touch on the skinny side. Unfortunately, Shadow wriggled at an inopportune time when the vet was administering the rabies jab and it ended up coming out the other side of his scruff! Whoops! Willow also didn't want to be upstaged by the new arrival and, after showing off a beautiful "sit", did a massive wee on the floor. :/
Re: We're home with a bundle of puppies!!! All sounds wonderful! There's nothing like making yourself known at the vets! ;D ;D
Re: We're home with a bundle of puppies!!! Cant wait to see pics! Sounds like a positive start for Shadow!
