So Ella is 5 months now and has been so great with her toilet training that we can't remember her last accident. We've decided to take the brave step of bringing the rug out of storage and so far so good but the OH and I are hovering over her every move!

Ella has very quickly decided that the rug is more comfortable than her vet bed!

May your brave move be rewarded! :) So nice when you can start getting your decor back to normal.

Haha, we've not replaced our rug, and mine are 13 months old! The thought of all the hair in it is putting me off!

Well done, but try not to hover her moves as it could unsettle her a little. With Juno we never took our rug up, apart from accident (which was my fault) she has never attempted to chew the rug. She loves to stretch out on it by our legs until she curls up in her cosy bed beside the sofa.

We've been on operation "your vetbed is the best and most rewarding place to be" today. Treats, belly rubs and a frozen Kong at different times for going settling on her vetbed. I'm pretty sure she thinks it's Christmas!

I still can't put the log basket on the floor and Charlie is 2.5 years! So well done Ella!

We have an old rug that started life in my bedroom as a child in the 1960s, and has been used as a puppy rug since 1971. Its been chewed, widdled (and worse) and bunged through the washing machine. Every dog I've owned has adopted this tatty old rug as its home!

JulieT I think I'll withhold the celebrations for a little while yet but day one was a success ☺

Hollysdad um, that's not exactly what I had I mind for this rug ☺. But I guess it can always be plan b if the next week or two don't go to plan
