I'm sorry, these photos are absolute crap. She literally will not sit still right now. I will try some better ones when she is tired but that will be a few hours!

First, it doesn't seem to be bothering her at all. She is acting her usual self, if a bit nuttier because it's raining and rain excites her.

Second, I've put antibiotic sav on it so it wasn't actually oily like that - it was dry.

Third, the vet is closed until Monday due to memorial day and I'm not sure this warrants an ER visit since it is not bothering her. I even touched it and she didn't care.

I didn't see it last night but it is possible it was there.

I did start switching to a new food 2 days ago. Could this be a reaction? Should I stop the food? (Purina ProPlan large breed puppy)

I have two medicated shampoos I could wash it. Should I do this? (2% Chlorhexidine 2% Miconazole, I used this on my old dog when she had skin issues)

Does it look like it could be an injury, like a scrap? Infected hair follicles?

    Oh poor girl.
Is it at her ear....or can't quite make it out?
I would think washing with chlorhexidene would be my choice but I would keep a close eye on it.

Hi, sorry I have no idea but hope it clears up. All I can say is get the vet to take a look on Tuesday unless it becomes worse, then go sooner.

It's on the top of her head! To the side a bit. Not on her ear

Hotspot? Is she scratching up there? Started from a bug bite, maybe a flea, it got itchy and she scratched? Do you have Black Flies? My dogs really reacted to their first black fly bites. They, and I, still react to the first ones of each season.

I noticed a black fly on ME last night when we were outside. It didn't bite me, but I realized it wasn't a typical house fly! And it was small. Hmmm?
She scratches a bit but nothing abnormal compared to usual. She doesn't really scratch her head. Hasn't focused on that area one bit. I noticed when I brushed her yesterday, she had a bit of dandruff.

I went to take pictures with my good camera now that she is napping and well I could barely even get it to show up - it looks a lot better! Like. I'm not even going to import the photos because it's just a soft pink spot now! All I've done is put neosporin on it.

    Oh that is good!
Do see the vet if it starts getting any worse again (I am sure you will!)

It looks like a minor skin irritation! I would wash it and apply some neosporing on it twice a day for a few days ! If it clears up then I wouldn't worry about it , if it doesn't I would have the vet take a look at it !
