Like just now. Lady lying on the sofa. Rubs her face down both sides with her front paws. Looks into the distance and wags her tail. Screws up into the cushions. Settles down and goes to sleep. It would be wonderful to know what she was thinking about.
Re: What do dogs think about? I would love to know too! It might be something like (with Harley anyway! Ball, ball, ball, play, play, play, food, food, food, rubs, rubs, rubs, run, run, run, ball, ball, ball etc etc......;D
Re: What do dogs think about? Holly would be saying "food food food - muddy water - food - fox poo - food -snuggles -food - play - food food ..."
Re: What do dogs think about? Mine would be saying 'what's the meaning of life' - 'is there a god' ;D
Re: What do dogs think about? Pongo: "Hmmph. Any chance of food? Nope. Hmmm. Can I be bothered to go and get tuggy toy and annoy mum? Errmmm....no, not really, it's all the way over the other side of the room. Any chance of food now? Still nope. Hmmm. No-one in here is doing anything interesting. OK, time to go to sleep. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz."
Re: What do dogs think about? Charlie: Wow! - it's morning. Jump on bed! Yay! Wow! - it's walk time! Yay! Yay! Yay! Wow! - it's wipe after walk! Yay! Wow! - it's breakfast! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Wow! - it's snooze time! Bang my tail on the sofa in my sleep! Yay! Wow! - it's 2 hours to lunchtime walk time! Time to stuff my nose on mum's laptop! Yay! And so on. My dog thinks "wow" and "yay". A lot.
Re: What do dogs think about? I've often wondered that as well. Sometimes meg give such a look that I wonder what I haven't done. She bangs her paw on the floor to get my attention. Got a fan in the bedroom for her and she took herself off to bed one night when it was hot and when I went to check her she banged the floor and then I realised I hadn't put the fan on. Once the fan was on she settled down, very comfy.
Re: What do dogs think about? Holly is the first dog my OH has ever had. Before we got her, he used to tell me I was crazy for the conversations I had with my dad's dogs and the ones in work. Now, if I'm quiet I can find him engaging in full blown conversations with a Holly when he thinks I'm not there. Clearly the other day, Holly has asked what the dishwasher was all about and why we needed a machine to clean dishes when she was there and willing to take care of them herself!
Re: What do dogs think about? My German Pointer used to cross the room and stare hard at the thermostat which was situated half way up the wall, when we went and clicked it on for her, she would then go and sit in the fireplace where the hot air came out ;D
Re: What do dogs think about? I think most of Sams thoughts are of food, walks and training, plus getting to play with children as much as possible Millie ? Put the kettle on , I could do with a little cup of tea
Re: What do dogs think about? Apart from food, outings, training and playing I'm not sure Bess thinks about anything. She is though a brilliant listener, obviously doesn't understand a word of the one sided conservation but she looks at me so attentively, tilting her head in that rather cute way dogs have. Alice
Re: What do dogs think about? "Oh look mum, mmm treat, thanks mum. Oh look, Stephen ha ha I've got your batman, chase me for it! Oh look cat, aaaaaargh the cat is chasing me! Oh look dad, WRESTLE TIME! Tired now *snores*"
