Hi All, I'm off to buy a kong today for my 9 week old boy, called Axl. Between sleeping and eating, he is very active! I'm clicker training him (with some success but it's slow progress) and playing with himas much as I can, but he needs something else to occupy him so I'm going to buy a kong. I assume a medium sized one is best? I know people put peanut butter in their kong, but have you got any other suggestions? I want to vary it to keep his interest. 8.5.13.2 forum by quickcammy, on Flickr
Re: What food to put in a kong? Oh, lordy, look at that gorgeous boy. Oh, he's a major sweetie So...kongs We put in ours: - low fat cream cheese - honey - pesto - cheese (put in microwave and melt) - yoghurt - kibble, 'locked in' with some peanut butter over the hole - leftover risotto The moister options in the list can also be frozen for a refreshing 'summer kong'
Re: What food to put in a kong? He's totally gorgeous We've also used a smear of marmite in ours, bananas and leftover veggies.
Re: What food to put in a kong? Gorgeous pup. Banana and peanut butter a favourite. Squeezy cheese and kibble. Wet dog food. Last longer if frozen first ;D Jac
Re: What food to put in a kong? Got a kong... Busy experimenting with different food to stuff it with as suggested by the forum. Doesn't seem keen on peanut butter though, but loves cheese and marmite, also pate... is pate OK? Put some kibble inside and blocked off the end with some pate and he loves it when he's licked the pate out and the kibble spills all over the floor - bonus! 11.5.13.1 forum by quickcammy, on Flickr
Re: What food to put in a kong? Depending on the pate it may have onions in it which you don't really want to give him. That is a totally adorable picture
Re: What food to put in a kong? He's completely gorgeous. I give my boy pate (small amount). He loves soft blue cheese in his kong too. Anything you can stuff in is worth a try
