So it would appear I have a particularly stupid boyfriend! Rob took Inca to work with him today and while out on a site visit in the morning he asked her to sit while he chatted to the client about something. Being the good girl that she is Inca dropped into the sit and then waited for the release cue - which didn't come! Having wandered off round the corner deep in conversation with his client Rob then had a memory blank and wondered where his usually attentive puppy had disappeared off to. Apparently he then went into panic mode and had to be reminded that she had not taken off and was in fact still sitting where he had left her. Stupid boy! So glad his client rang me to share this one with me as I don't think I would have found out otherwise!
Re: When obedience backfires That's amazing, well done Inca. I confess to doing a similar thing with my last Lab, leaving him in the yard at the DIY livery stables and driving home, only to panic when I realised he wasn't in the car and tearing back to find him patiently waiting. However he must have been about 8 or 9 years old at the time - not a puppy like Inca. I can't imagine Molly ever being that good.
Re: When obedience backfires I feel it could be short-lived. I've noticed quite a big increase in her energy levels over the last 7 days when we are out walking and she is finding it harder to contain her energy during training. Looks like she might be a teenager before long. Will enjoy the obedience while it lasts!
Re: When obedience backfires Well I would be really happy if my training backfired like that, very good girl Inca so love that name!! xx
