Our 11 month black labrador girl is on puppy kibble & all is well with that. When should she be changed onto an adult food? She's just started her first season which may or may not be relevant!?

    Hi Maureen,

Most puppy kibbles say on the back what age to start transitioning onto the adult version of the food. The brand we are using says for her expected weight we should move her to adult food at 12 months.

My dog's food says from around 9 months, but I know that is a guideline and not breed specific. As she is still growing I'm keeping her on it for a while longer though , maybe until 11/ 12 months, until she has slowed growing right down.

At around 12 months I moved Toby onto the adult version of the same food. As well as the ingredients changing slightly you will find the kibble size is bigger too. Not that he ever chewed it. More like inhaled!
We are trialling raw at the moment with some success.
