Well... whipit has arrived. Son is currently in the garden with Bob attached the end of it... PULLING PULLING PULLING!!!!! GAH! Oh well... suppose they are having fun. i'm not sure it should be a pulling toy really. Will try to start some of the proper whipit training games tomorrow when son is at school!
Re: Whipit Well, it's lovely your pup and your son are having fun. But if you really want to train with whipit, I would not let your son play with it. It would be much easier to train a lot of undesirable behaviours with whipit than desirable ones. It's also a chase game - it is designed to get dogs excited so you can work with an excited dog. That wouldn't seem a suitable thing for a child and a boisterous Labrador to be doing, to be honest. And it needs to stay a very gentle game for young dogs - don't over do it, it can be intense exercise.

Bob was so excited he jumped up at me after I managed to extract the toy from him. He never jumps up. He nearly bit my nose off! So I can tell what the level of excitement is going to be like LOL! I need to locate the whipit training video now...! Lou x
Re: Whipit Yes, that's the thing. It's about control and controlling the excitement (or should be). Make sure you know what you are doing, know what you are trying to train and how, and have a plan. Don't just turn it into a mad game - that's no good for a young dog (either training wise or physically).
