Does it really matter whether you have the 210.5 or the 211.5? How much difference does it make?

Jane, I'm not sure it really matters as long as you always use the same pitch. Think 210.5 is usually used for Spaniels and the 211.5 Labradors etc, I use this one. But don't quote me on that ::) x

Jane ,I don't think it's a major worry ,I think it's something to do with pitch....the Gundog members will be able to verify that ,but I think the Main thing is to have consistency. If you have bought an acme whistle you will always have consistency of pitch because if you lose a whistle you can buy exactly the same one to replace it x

    Re: Whistles

I have Labs and use an Acme 210.5 which I prefer. I tried the 211.5 but when I had my hat on, it seemed overly loud, reflected back from under the rim I suppose! It doesn't really matter what whistle you use as long as you always use the same tone. Though having said that, I am sure my dogs would respond to any whistle if I blew it :)

Might give your lab a spaniel complex :)

Seriously, makes not one jot of difference to the dog.

I have both - "poisoned" the higher pitched one, so bought the other when I started Total Recall on someone's advice.
I can't remember which is which but I found the original higher pitched one more acceptable to my human ear.
