What age did those with black Labradors notice the first white hair? I guess it should be around 7 being the mid-life point? Roger
Re: White Hairs. My next door neighbours black lab is the same age as Harley (20 months) and already has a lot of white hair around his neck
Re: White Hairs. My pups' dad is 4 (or was when I last saw him) and he had lots of white hairs on his chin already.
Re: White Hairs. Charlie is two and a bit and has a single grey hair in the middle of his back. It really sticks out! ;D
Re: White Hairs.
Charlie is two and a bit and has a single grey hair in the middle of his back. It really sticks out! ;D
Haha, aren't you tempted to get the tweezers out?
Re: White Hairs. Lochan has a really white chin at the grand old age of 3. Tarka at 4 is still completely black though.
Re: White Hairs. Interesting! Benson is 4 (5 in September)and has no white hairs yet! I wonder why? Roger
Re: White Hairs.
Like people I suppose some of us are greyer than others at the same age ;D
Thank the great gods of shopping for ways to counter it
Re: White Hairs. Sam is coming up to four years old and has some grey hairs around his muzzle , I also notice the odd white hair on his body, but he can keep them x
Re: White Hairs. I have a friend with a 10 year old chocolate Labrador without a single white hair and cannot say that I have seen a yellow one with one either; why? Roger
Re: White Hairs. It varies hugely. My first Lab was black and didn't start going grey till he was about 7. At 14 he still wasn't very grey.
Re: White Hairs. Lilly has developed some grey around her lower jaw/chin area and a couple of white hairs in her right eyebrow too over the last few months. She is 5 on 1st May. Personally, I think my greying hair is quite nice, and more interesting than my previous boring brownish colour, so I will leave the Grecian 2000 (lady) on the shelf, Ta very much 8)
Re: White Hairs.
;D ;D ;D Not really, I'm sure it'd just grow back!
Doesn't the old wives saying go if you pull out 1 that 2 grow back? Just had an inspection of my boy snoozing beside me...it's not so noticeable on the yellows....but at the grand old age of 2 years and 7 months is that a slight greying around his lips ? (they are called something 'proper' aren't they? ) image by dexterpops02, on Flickr

Recently, I was late having my colour done and my hairdresser said "it's ok, you can't really see the regrowth, the grey blends the line". LA-LA-LA-LA fingers in ears and eyes closed until she got the bleach on... ;D ;D ;D
Re: White Hairs. My pup is 16 months and he has a few white hairs on his head/face/neck already! They started when he was around 7/8 months! He was born with a few white hairs on his chest as his mother had the same, you cant really see them unless you look closely at him
