I've said several times that if I had the opportunity, I'd like to feed more raw. Willow seems to agree. On yesterday evening's walk, she shot up the hill in the forest we were walking through, started digging in the snow and then chomped something. I called her back and she did, come, bless her, with a wing (maybe sparrow??) sticking out each side of her mouth and looking most pleased with herself. A second later and there was no sign remaining. So it may not have been a rotting seagull, but she's had her first taste of carrion. And so it begins....
Re: Willow extends her raw diet ;D ;D ;D

I can't remember the last time I saw a decomposing bird corpse
Don't worry. Your labrador will find them for you. ;D
Re: Willow extends her raw diet My friend's Labrador disappeared off into some brambles and came back with a leg of lamb and half a ribcage, it was the fox's supper! Owner couldn't get it off the dog, dog took half and hour to eat it and wasn't all that well a day and a half later!
Re: Willow extends her raw diet
;D ;D ;D ;D Julie has so been waiting for that opportunity!
I store Fiona's posts away....waiting... ;D ;D ;D (Only joking!).
Re: Willow extends her raw diet Not a day goes past when Fletcher doesn't supplement his diet with something he finds on his walk. I never knew there was so much dead stuff on the Yorkshire Dales until I got a labrador. On the plus side he never has any ill effects - his stomach fauna must be pretty exotic by now!
Re: Willow extends her raw diet This is the season for lots of rabbits...Remy (one of our cats...) hunts them, eats half then leaves the rest for the dogs... :
