With the children back to school we decided to make the most of the sunshine on Wednesday and went to our local lake for a walk. We had the entire lake to ourselves together with all 6.8km of the circular walk - fantastic, no bikes, children or dogs :D:D. Juno thoroughly enjoyed having the lake to herself and did some lovely retrieves of her dummy, finishing with a nice sit in front of me. just need to get her to deliver to hand rather than drop the dummy, but not too bothered as our retrieves are just for fun. Oh, and ignore the conversation on the video - never realised my phone was that sensitive, and it never ceases to amaze me how little my OH knows even after a year :rolleyes: For some reason I don't get an arrow on the video but it plays OK if you click it

Looks great! I hate how your phone picks up your voice so clearly on video so I always end up being silent (except for my commands to Ella)!

Emily normally I am quiet when Juno is on a task, unfortunately my husband started speaking and I responded albeit in a quiet voice. I was just amazed at how the phone picked it up so clearly.

Juno is beautiful and a great swimmer! What a great place to take your dog swimming.

ChoppersDad Thank you Juno loves swimming but isn't particularly interested unless there's a retrieve - not sure I that's good or bad. She will go and splash in the water but will only swim when going to retrieve. She was just the same at 14 weeks, would splash in the lake but was happy to swim to retrieve

Riley's the same, loves to have a splash but proper swimming is kept for retrieving.....he's always been cautious around water though. He'll never be one for diving in dramatically :)

bbrown Juno hadn't shown much inclination for dramatic leap into water until 2 seeks ago when she was running towards the lake with her doggy friends, unfortunately she was heading for the area close to the weir which has a barrier across the lake! With heart in mouth I just shouted "No" - very aversive I know- and Juno just stopped in her tracks and looked at me and then came when called. Not sure what the overall impact was but when at the lake this week Juno made no move to go into the lake without being told it was OK so overall better than normal

What is so special is that look Juno gave you when she dropped that bumper at your feet. So proud of herself and happy to please you! :)

Ah great work Juno...Dexter can be a bit ambivalent I was looking at how far you threw it thinking ' I wouldn't fancy having to go in that far for it if Juno does a 'Dexter' !

Dexter not much chance of Juno not going for it :D:D. My philosophy is if she doesn't go for it, I'll just have to order again from Amazon, that said we have tried her with 2 dummies and she managed to retrieve both although it was a bit close for the 2nd one as she had lost the location of one in her eagerness to go retrieve :rolleyes::rolleyes:
