Whale moans and grunts? That's a good one. When Brew yawns, she still sounds like she's miaowing... but she's more big cat than kitten already.

Obi does a good rendition of 'Songs of the Humpback Whale' as well.

Definitely want to hear honking :)

Sam rarely barks , doesnt even stir when someone comes to the door , Millie barks when the doorbell goes so I guess Sams attitude is " Why have a dog and bark yourself " ;D ;D
But when he does bark, it sounds fearsome which is quite silly as he is a big wuss :)

Dexters ears pricked up he heard Obi :D  Dex has got a right old woof on him!
With the visitors we had last week in mind I've been training 'quiet'
Their arrival made me realise we are proofed against the door bell and the normal comings and goings in the house...'quiet' still needs work' :-[

Phew! Finally got Flickr to work.

So, the other night my girl was eating a sandwich, prompting this pitiful display:

    Pathetic, isn't it.

I finally got the proper woof today:

Not sure what he was barking at, exactly. The snow had been cleared in the cul-de-sac, resulting in that big mound you see. Beyond that is the top of a vehicle, I think Simba must have noticed it (it wasn't there earlier) and was warning us about the Big Scary Monster Out There.

    Not sure.

I don't know why I sound like one of the Munchkins, either.

Dexter jumped up when he heard Simba stating his argument for a piece of sandwich but didn't move when he heard the big boy bark!

Exactly the same in this house! Obviously The Sandwich Lament is universal and immediately evokes sympathy from all listening dogs...

That sandwich beg bark is hard to resist! I reckon he'd have got my sandwich off me, no problem.

What a proper deep monster warning woof he has though! Lovely!

Charlie did a single woof at the hedge again last night. I'll take my iPad out tonight in hope....

    LOL.
Since we are comparing notes......I got a head up "whassat?" For the sandwich bark but only a twitch of the ear for the snow bark :)

Oh isn't that interesting how they have all reacted the same.....and understand each other......The Sandwich Lament must be telling them all food is in the building!
This is a bit off the topic but just wanted to say Lisa ,I saw a proper full breed Newfi today ;D omg..... What an amazing dog, like a grizzly bear!i felt a bit shy to ask for a photo ??? But I had a quick little chat, the lady says she shears here right back in the summer.....she'd have to as a dog like that could never survive a summer here...

I love Newfie's what a beautiful breed they are. I have a real love of big hairy dogs and I can feel already what my next breed might be - but not for a loooonnnnngggggg time.

Loved these videos. Harley came running in from the garden when she heard the sandwhich bark, the walked back into the garden with the snow bark! It is strange how they all reacted ;)

Lisa that is what I call a woof, very manly ;D

Charlie has a yap most of the time but yesterday he had the lowest woof at something and who knows what it was but he woofed for ages not moving but looking out of the window. A low rumbling woof he sounded quite manly for a change - very funny ;D
