Re: Worried about barley Ah, bless him. I hope you manage to sort this soon. Harley sends Barley licks Ternaya and Harley (15 weeks)
Re: Worried about barley
You can get boots for dogs have you thought about trying those for his feet. I know he will probably chew them off if you leave them on him but it might help for him to wear when walking keeping his feet clean and stopping whatever might irritate them getting on them. That's if he'll wear them of course. :
In response to this, at the weekend i managed to get dad to order him some boots, finally, they should arrive on wednesday. It took lots of persauding on my behalf but he finally gave in ;D. that's one less worry this winter for him, as he should have more grip wearing boots, so there is less chance of him slipping over on ice and chewing his feet to death from iritating salt.
Re: Worried about barley The salt that gets put down is really bad for dogs apparently so if Barley will wear boots that's a double win....no chewing and no swallowing bad salt. Hope he likes his new shoes
Re: Worried about barley Haha, barley like his new shoes, you must be joking, he will hate, he will try to eat them at every opportunity he gets given, he hates wearing anything other than a collar, he hates wearing a harness, he hates wearing a coat, he hates having a towle put over him when he is wet, he hates having a bandage on his feet when he has eith cut them or chewed them (but then that could be partly due to the dew claw incident :-\) I will try to video him when i first put them on him
Re: Worried about barley Hi annabelle Sorry only just seen your post. Well done persuading your dad to get the boots. I find dads usually give in if you persevere. ;D Barley might not like his new foot wear but I'm sure he'll look smart. Look forward to seeing a pic if you can get one. Jen
Re: Worried about barley Oh yes, i am defo going to get a pick with him and his new foot wear and his sad pathetic face, hating them :
Re: Worried about barley Boots arrived yesterday, have not tried them on him yet, that is a weekend task, as we have training tonight and i don't want to upset the sensitive soul :. Training tonight is going to be fun, i am going armed with heart cake, liver cake, sausage, fleece coat, figure of 8 headcollar, short lead and lots of chews. Hopefully i have not forgotten anything, wait i also need the dog
Re: Worried about barley
wait i also need the dog
You're funny Annabelle!good luck,with class and weekend boots! X
Re: Worried about barley ;D ;D Can you get your brother to video the boot trial? ;D Lilly lasted about 3 minutes when we had one on her cut paw. She was pathetic. : Abandoned pretty rapidly. Good luck!
Re: Worried about barley Training was ok, only one grumble at a dog who got to close to the treat bag. Other than that he was a good boy. Most of the work was off lead, which was really good for him and me, especially if we are going to do the gold good citizenship award. this week there is no training, but instead it is the clubs Christmas party, and then that is training finished for the year
