Morning, I was doing some training with Charlie yesterday so thought I would use the Primula Cheese, thanks for the tip Heidrun and Jen - WOW, WOW, WOW!!

We did lots of 'uncued look at me', some stop whistles, memory retrieves, retrieves and whipit he couldn't get enough of it!! ;D

He is doing pretty well with the whipit, sitting looking at me which I didn't teach so hope that's OK, he just does it, until I say "go get it" then I stop and he drops the Pheasant :) I will move onto the garden if the weather is OK.

    Thanks. xx

Thanks Rachael, Primula is creamy cheese in a tube so it's really easy and not messy to use :D x

High processed Squirty cheese that has been around for decades. Bleurgh.....
I think it is like Dairylea cheese triangles but not so firm.

I have heard recently that Ikea do fish pastes in tubes and thought this would be useful to try too but not been to Ikea for yonks.

You are making really good progress with Charlie :)

I have to be honest and say that I am slightly disappointed to discover that the British people have been manufacturing and consuming Squirty Cheese for, quote, 'decades'. I had thought better of you.

....and less hassle than chopping up crumbly cubes of cathedral city extra mature for hydro.
    Sounds like a plan actually......

I'm not sure primula "cheese" is the worst of it, to be honest....I reckon meat, fish, and sandwich pastes are up there....we'll blame the war, I think.... :-\ :-[ ;D ;D

I'm also a massive fan of Primula. It's totally turned Max's lead walking around in the last few weeks. We've just got back from a 25 minute walk where he only pulled twice and that was only briefly. We're now working on building up the distance between squirts!! :)

Glad the squirty cheese is working Helen. What flavour did you go for ?

Charlie sounds like he's doing really well with his training and the whipit. Sitting looking at you until you tell him to get it is brilliant. I would think that takes a lot of self control from him with the strong hunting instinct he has. Maybe the whipit will start to help you harness that hunting desire. Let's hope so. ;D

Right, I'm off to the supermarket tomorrow to empty the shelves of Primula. Pongo, this means BUSINESS.

Great tip! Do you literally squirt a little bit in their mouths? I imagine Tess would try to make off with the whole tube ...

I just squeeze a tiny bit out of the end of the tube and Max slurps it down! When lead walking it's dog on my left, lead in my right hand and primula tube (lid off) in my left hand. Roughly every 30/40 steps he gets about half a centimetre of gooey cheese! We do get some very funny looks sometimes :)

Just got the plain "cheese" flavour!

Oh I am glad that him sitting for the whipit is good I wasn't sure. I know it takes a lot of self control for Charlie but it's great as he is totally looking into my eyes :* Not so sure it will harness his hunting desire but he's having fun and learning something new so that's got to be a bonus :D x
