I own both dam & sire. Dam is the classic yellow Labrador retriever and sire is black Labrador retriever. Both are AKC certified. We have a 1 week old litter of 10 puppies ( by Insemination ).......four of our five yellow have black spots. ???? What is this

    Hi Jessica,

Welcome to the forum! Your puppies sound very sweet and unique :)

Whilst we're most familiar with Labs in solid colors, many of them carry genes for all kinds of spots, whites patches, tan markings, etc. These genes are often passed down silently for generations, before making a surprise reappearance!

I've added an admin note to your post - you can read about why we do that over on this thread if you like.
