Someone said this to me yesterday. Asked me which was my favourite puppy. I said I didn't have one, to which she rolled her eyes and said I was just saying the "right thing" and that I must prefer one over the other. I'm lucky. Their personalities are so completely different, it's just not possible to say one is better than the other. I suppose if they were really similar except for the fact one did an extra little nice thing, it might make that one "better". But that's not the case. Those of you with two dogs, do you have a "favourite"?
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! hmmmm....there are times I do prefer one over the other.... Benson this morning had chewed through a brand new facial cleanser bottle, and facial wash I had left out on the stairs ready to pop into the bathroom. There were squirts of cream all over the carpet and the walls. A chewed lid on the rug in the lounge. Later today, he started digging by the picnic table at Westonbirt after our walk, then jumped up on the table and licked my ears...yes I had mud all over my face!...today Casper is my favourite.. If I am in the mood for a funny dog, or need cheering up its Benson, with his endless supply of "things" he likes to bring me! if I need a dog to tell all my woes of the day it is Casper, he has a way of staring at me with such sympathy, sighing deeply before snuggling up for a cuddle.
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! I think the crunch would come when someone would say 'you have to get rid of one of the dogs' and then which one would you choose :-X !!!!! Sometimes one is my favourite and sometimes the other.
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! Oh, don't get me wrong, there are times one is driving me completely bonkers and the other is behaving beautifully; then I'd happily choose my favourite! Last night, Shadow ate some vomit (tourists are lovely) before I saw what he was doing and got him away. All night he had the worst trumps. Literally room-clearing - we escaped to the pub! Willow was definitely my favourite then! ;D
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! Mmmm tricky! My two are like chalk and cheese too I've had Riley so much longer than Obi and I waited a really, really long time for my first dog that I think he will always be very special. Obi is a huge amount of fun though and I can see him and I doing so many things together, plus he is a complete cuddle monster! Too hard, I will remain perched on the fence ;D
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! Only 1 dog but 2 cats who are related but totally different characters. No, I don't have a favourite with them, love them both for their differences! Juno says she loves them both the same although she manages to lick Belle more than Oscar
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! I love them both to bits, for different reasons as they are so unalike , but have to sneakily admit that I do have a special bond with big Sam
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! It depends on the day ... the hour ... the minute! My two are chalk and cheese too, both very lovable, but in different ways. I really wouldn't be able to choose between them. Wispa had another 'blip' this morning on her lead walk, when she was frightened by the sound of a toddler's wooden trike on a rough pathway, so barked and did her scary monster impersonation. She wasn't my favourite then. Neither was Tuppence this afternoon during their free run in the woods when she ate a huge dollop of (almost fresh!) horse poo before I could stop her! ;D
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! Hmmm, difficult. One is super intelligent, one is drop dead gorgeous, one is fiercely loyal and one is a genius gundog. Love them all!
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! Tricky question. Lochan is 100% my dog, loyal, loving and keen to please. Tarka is fast, bold, slightly mad and a joy to watch running but gentle and quiet in the house. Love them both to bits!
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! [quote author=Naya link=topic=10459.msg154371#msg154371 date=1428170940] Glad I don't have this problem (yet ) [/quote hmmm something to tell us?
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! Me and OH talk about this, when we discuss puppy #2....(yet to come)...we say "Charlie will always be number 1", "it's Charlie's house"...etc. etc....bet it's different when you have them, and #2 (or #3 or #4) has made his/her way into your heart too.
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! I thought about that a lot too.....I love Riley even more than before Obi. Having a puppy shows you just how far you've come and how lovely your existing dog really is. And the puppy is just a pile of scrumptiousness which is easy to love! It's a blast ;D
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! I cant choose either! Both completely different, brods my big hunting boy is a gentle, goony, still puppyish at 3, soft sop mummys boy when not around wildlife, cuilli is my gorgeous, funny, loyal, soooper clever, hyperactive and rather needy girl, both of them love nothing better than a sofa cuddle with mum at the end of the day....love them both the same
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! I can't chose either. All 3 of them are so different & I have different relation with each of them but I love them all to bits. Barney is our special care boy (dysplastic, severe allergy) so he gets a lot of attention. Shelby is our crazy overly- optimistic sunshine & Ellie is quite alike her but still only a little puppy.
Re: You MUST have a favourite!! Ah I'm a one dog family as you know but I can't imagine how you could ever choose if you were 'multiple' .It must be so lovely seeing their different ways and personalities though x
