Hi all, In addition to reading Gwen Bailey's excellent book on having a perfect puppy I've also strayed onto YouTube whilst looking for training tips. As you might imagine, it seems as though every man (and his dog!) has produced at least one video guide. However, there are three trainers whose videos I have particularly liked the approach on. See what you think. Kikopup : http://www.youtube.com/user/kikopup?feature=watch Victoria Stilwell : http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0C724F6F6A597540 Training positive : http://www.youtube.com/user/tab289?feature=watch (The guy has a habit of standing a little too close to the camera but the training is good!) Are there any that you would recommend / have found useful.
Also agreed - between these two YouTube trainers, my dogs are well-trained and (generally) behaved -- all without the cost of an expensive trainer! Nox vidmate vlc
I used a lot of Victoria Stillwell's techniques, I like her. Many of them worked for Sophie. I also really like Zac George, he's very similar and he has an entire series on puppies including his own experience training his own puppy from the day he got him. His stuff has been really helpful too!
I started watching Zak, I like him and he seems very low key and honest about expectations. I compare what he says to others and most of the time, they are on the same page, but sometimes I think Zak is more empathetic to the a puppies different needs and differences in time frames for different pups.
