My Baby girl is getting big she has lost her front 2 teeth no adult teeth yet but think they come threw next few days. Should I continue with her dry kibble or better to go moist ?? mind she not eaten much last couple days missed her lunch yesterday and only had 1/2 at lunch today could that be cause she sore ? I thought cause it was to warm but looked in mouth this morning at training and toothless Ziva. Got face cloth and ice cubes at the ready . Thanks
Hi Marie, I'm mean and don't change diet during teething, but if you want to soak your puppy's kibble for a short while before she eats it, it won't do her any harm either way
I'm a meanie to - I didn't even think to offer anything other than Juno's normal kibble , needless to say she survived teething without ill effects
Aw, it's a milestone when they start losing teeth. Roll on a few weeks of smelly face licks as their mouth smells a bit like a rusty nail (from the iron) I didn't change diet, either. They pretty much inhale their kibble without crunching it, so it made no difference there, and the raw meat I feed them for lunch seemed to soothe them - they chew more in this time than at others, so I don't really see the point in softening things up. Chewing obviously helps the pain.
Soaked half her kibble tonight and gave half dry and she seems ok. Thanks all Snowbunny .....Rusty Nails lol lol lol I bet they enjoyed there Raw Feed
glad to read that You can also try to freeze some carrot chunks in kong or give her a frozen cloth to play - should ease the pain. When Barney was teething my vet advised using Bonjela gel but tbh I didn't see much difference so didn't try that with the girls.
They love it! Turkey drumsticks, quartered rabbit, yesterday a pig trotter..... Yummers. Their favourite, though, has to be frozen fresh sardines. Sadly, they last about half a second each. They get so excited by them, though!
Ziva loves her Kong filled with Banana and Peanut butter from freezer but because it's frozen and she still young she gets fed up so try taken out freezer 30/40 min before she gets it and enjoys it better. She not so keen on frozen facecloth ties in a knot........
I do have a good butcher, who gives me loads of offcuts. But mainly I buy from the supermarket. We don't have such a thing as "buying online" for things like that back here in the 20th Century where I seem to live
