Hi there.last night was a life changer as we went and viewed a pedigree litter and paid a deposit for the most gorgeous bundle of fir I've ever seen. This dog's relations have almost celebrity status but that aside we are complete novices even though we tick most of the boxes.
I am excited about using this forum and site as it was recommended by the breeder and just browsing this morning am quite impressed.
I look forward to picking the dog up on June 28th which incidentally is my middle son's 18th and would have been my dad's birthday as well.
so hello to you all and plenty of daft, insane and serious questions to be answered for the next ten years or so.
    Regards
    Dave

Hi Dave and welcome to the forum. Tell us a bit more about your new puppy; male, female, colour? Working or show lines? Do you have a name yet?

I have three Labs - Shadow, who is a yellow boy, Willow who is a black girl, from working lines. They are litter mates and two and a half years of age. Luna (or Squidge, as she is more commonly known) is a chocolate from show lines, and nearly seven months old.

We have a couple of threads somewhere where we compare pedigrees to see if your dog has any relatives on the forum. I'll see if I can dig them out :)

Welcome to you from Mags, Tatze and Mollie from Manchester UK :hi:

Tatze is my pet dog, a black Lab and she's four years old. Tatze means 'paw' in German.

Mollie is my fourth Guide Dog puppy, a black Lab who is seven months old.

Hi there. He's male Black and the pictures show his parent catching game birds so presumably he will have a true retrieving instinct. His mother I think goes on shoots but I am really confused by it all at present because my poor old brain has been overloaded with information.
I ,must calm down and clear house, prepare house for dog and first few days then move on otherwise I will be in the sanitarium dressed as Napoleon!!

I have this funny feeling the aforementioned book will be read backwards forwards upside down etc.

Hehe, interestingly, my show Lab has a far stronger natural retrieving instinct than my two working Labs, who needed to be coaxed into it a bit. Which has its benefits, because the puppy, Luna, likes to pick up anything she can get in her mouth, so be careful what you wish for ;)
