My lab puppy has white on her chest and some of her toes. The person I bought her from said the markings would go away. Is this true? The parents are full chocolate labs... A couple of her toenails are white instead of brown.
No, the white almost definitely won't go away; in fact, as your pup grows, you might notice them getting bigger. These are what are known as "mismarks" and relatively common. Is your pup a chocolate or yellow? My own choccy girl has a couple of white hairs; one on her inner thigh and a couple on her neck. Nothing you'd notice unless you look very, very closely, but I know they're there. Have we seen any pics of your girl yet? (hint hint!)
I don't know if they will but my pup has white marks on the bottom of her front paws. When she was little they were noticeable but now she's grown (9 months) they are hardly visible and I have to look for them
Yes, my black girl has them between her pads, too. They're very faint; at first, I thought it was just the light shining off her coat, but, no, there are definitely white hairs in there! These are called Bolo spots and can be traced back to a famous dog called Banchory Bolo who was the first ever dual champion.
Apologies for going off topic... I've just read a little about Banchory Boro, how interesting! Thank you Snowbunny
My Lab has Banchory Bolo white as well, he has white stripe down the back of his right ankle and a smaller one down the back of the left one, the reason why I chose him
Lablover66, I changed the title of your thread a bit so it’s more specific about what you’re asking for help with
